FBI informant grilled at NY temple bomb plot trial

The Associated Press reports today, September 21, 2010, in an article entitled "FBI Informant grilled at NY temple bomb plot trial," that an FBI informant, Shahed Hussain, testified on cross in federal court in Manhattan last Tuesday that he prodded a potential bomber to move forward with his 2009 plot to attack synagogues and shoot military planes by falsely promising to make him "the happiest man on planet Earth."

James Cromitie, the would-be bomber, was arrested in an elaborate sting that the defense argues constituted entrapment. Cromitie and others involved in the sting have pled not guilty to charges of conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction and conspiracy to acquire and use anti-aircraft missiles to kill U.S. officers and employees.
