FBI stings man who allegedly had backpack with fake bomb

On September 20, 2010, CNN reports in an article titled "FBI stings man who allegedly had backpack with fake bomb," that a twenty-two year old Lebanese citizen was arrested Sunday morning in an FBI sting operation after having placed a backpack he believed to contain an explosive device on a street corner in Chicago.

Sami Samir Hassoun is charged with a felony count each of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and attempted use of an explosive device. Hassoun is a legal permanent resident of the United States and was expected to appear in court Monday afternoon.
