Chicago Man Indicted for Allegedly Attempting to Provide Material Support to a Foreign Terrorist Organization

The FBI reports on 9/30/2010, in a release entitled "Chicago Man Indicted for Allegedly Attempting to Provide Material Support to a foreign Terrorist Organization," that a Chicago man who was arrested last month for attempting to fly to Somalia to fight for a foreign terrorist organization has been indicted.

Shaker Masri, a resident of Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, was indicted on one count of attempting to provide material support to al Shabaab, a designated FTO, and one count of attempting to provide material support by use of a weapon of mass destruction outside the U.S. He will be arraigned later this month.
