The LA Times reports today, October 5, 2010,  that Faisal Shahzad has received a life term for the attempted Times Square bombing last May.

The article, entitled "Faisal Shahzad gets life term for attempted Times Square bombing," reports U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum handed down the mandatory life sentence of life in prison without parole.

Warning Americans did not understand the plight of the Muslim people, Shahzad said "Brace yourself because the war has just begun." Shahzad reportedly told investigators he hoped to accomplish a second bombing two weeks after the May attack and as many after until he was captured or killed. Notably, Shahzad reports he acted alone but evidence thereafter surfaced regarding financial backing from the Pakistani Taliban.
