California woman charged with terrorist aid

In an article entitled "California woman charged with terrorist aid," published on November 15, 2010 the Miami Herald reports  that a California woman has been charged with conspiring to provide money and people to a Somali terrorist group in order to help carry out killings there, according to a federal indictment which was unsealed Monday, November 15.

Nima Ali Yusuf, a twenty-four-year-old permanent resident of the United States is alleged to have conspired to aid al-Shabab, an al-Qaeda associate which aims to create an Islamic state in Somalia, the indictment indicates.

The Miami Herald reports that since 2007, approximately twenty men have left Minnesota to fight with al-Shabab. At this time, it is not clear if Yusuf was connected to those men.
