In a Washington Post op-ed published Friday, March 4 entitled "Why the Mideast Revolts Will help al-Qaeda,"  Michael Scheuer argues that recent revolutions and protests in the Arab world have not rendered al Qaeda irrelevant.

Scheuer argues that  the events have moved al Qaeda closer to several of its primary goals, including “the destruction of the Arab world’s tyrannies and of Israel” and all “with virtually no investment of manpower or money by the terrorist network.”
