Woodbridge man faces terror charges in production of violent jihadist video – Washington Post

In a September 3, 2011 article entitled, Woodbridge man faces terror charges in production of violent jihadist video, the Washington Post reported that 24-year-old Jubair Ahmad from Woodbridge, VA, was arrested after having allegedly created a violent jihadist video.

According to federal authorities, Ahmad created the video in 2010 for the Pakistani terrorist group, Lashkar-i-Taiba. While producing the video, Ahmad was in close contact with the group and was given specific instructions on its contents. Authorities believe that the five-minute YouTube video was used to recruit jihadists.

Jubair Ahmad, who is facing charges of providing material support to a designated terrorist organization and providing false statements during a terrorist investigation, could face up to 23 years incarceration if he is found guilty on both charges. A bond hearing is expected on Wednesday.
