Two Minnesota Women Convicted of Providing Material Support to al Shabaab – FBI

On October 20, 2011, the FBI reported that Amina Farah Ali and Hawo Mohamed Hassan were convicted of conspiring to provide material support to al Shabaab, a designated foreign terrorist organization. Additionally, Ali was found guilty of 12 counts of providing material support and Hassan was also convicted on two counts of making false statements.

According to federal prosecutors, the defendants provided the terrorist organization with financial support from September 2008 to July 2010.
