Witness says Mehanna sought terror training – Boston Globe

According to a November 14, 2011 article in the Boston Globe, a former friend of Tarek Mehanna testified that he "…drove Mehanna and two associates to the airport in 2004, where they planned to embark on a trip to Yemen to seek terrorist training."

Mehanna's former friend, Hassan Masood, testified in the government's case-in-chief that "They found someone who was going to help them in Yemen. They wanted to go to Yemen to look for training camps there."  Yet according to the article, during cross-examination by Mehanna's attorneys, Masood "…acknowledged that Mehanna opposed suicide bombings because civilians were involved, and said military facilities were the only legitimate target."
