Former soldier indicted on terrorism charges – Washington Post

On March 7, 2012, the Washington Post reported that Craig Benedict Baxam, a former U.S. Army soldier from Maryland, was indicted by a federal grand jury for attempting to provide material support to Al-Shabaab.  According to federal prosecutors, Baxam traveled to Kenya with the intention to travel into Somalia and join Al-Shabaab, an extremists wing of Al-Qaida.
