International Criminal Court hands down first verdict – ICC

On March 14, 2012, the International Criminal Court announced that Thomas Lubanga Dyilo was found guilty of war crimes of "conspiring and enlisting children under the age of 15 and using them to participate in hostilities…"  Dyilo is the first individual to be found guilty by the court. 

According to the press release, Dyilo, a national of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was the first individual to be prosecuted before the ICC.  Sentencing is to follow.
