Philadelphia man charged with providing material support – FBI

The FBI reported on March 15, 2012 that Bakhtiyor Jumaev, a resident of Philadelphia, was arrested on one count of conspiracy to provide material support to the Islamic Jihad Union (IJU), a designated foreign terrorist organization.  Jumeav was arrested by members of the Philadelphia FBI Joint Terroristm Task Force. 

Federal authorities allege that Jumaev sent funds to an associate specifically intended for the IJU.  If convicted, Jumaev faces up to 15 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
