Military reworking spy operations – CNN

On April 24, 2012 CNN's national security blog reported that the U.S. military is reworking its spying program to "better focus on threats off the battlefield."  Accoring to Pentagon officials, the new approach would focus on human intelligence conducted by U.S. military spies and assets would be shared by the intelligence community.  The new program, called the Defense Clandestine Service, would predominantly focus on threats from the Asia-Pacific region."
