Executive Order Establishes White House Security Partnership Council

Oct 31st, 2012 Current Affairs, Inteligence

The President has issued an executive order creating the White House Security Partnership Council. The order states that the Council was established to “foster local partnerships” between the federal government, the private sector, NGOs, foundations, community-based organizations, and state, local, tribal, and territorial government and law enforcement to address homeland security challenges.

According to the order, the Council shall be chaired by the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, or by a designee from the national security staff. Moreover, the order established a Steering Committee, to be chaired by the same individual, which will, among other functions, provide guidance to the Council.
